S&S RED PALM OIL is made from the DURA palms of WEST AFRICA.

And is a unique “wild” handcrafted organic/extra virgin warm, first pressing.

We are using the fruits of these oil palms growing along the rivers & streams of small scale family farms that have existed for many centuries inside the” forest-jungle” of WEST AFRICA ,known to us as” Beyond Organic” plantations.

S&S PROCESS FOR RED OIL…

Our success is production on a small scale allowing small batches by hand to ensure a fast extraction with NO CHEMICAL SOLVENTS ever used. This process is very closely controlled with no compromise from start to finish ensuring its regulation of food safety.

The fruits are selected, separated, washed & trimmed to soften the pulses for a warm first pressing, collecting the very heavy Red Oil from the pulp without breaking the shell (as the inside nut contains a different oil!!)-therefore we describe our Oil as” BEYOND ORGANIC”-EXTRA VIRGIN FIRST WARM PRESSING.-It has NOT been refined in ANY way, resulting in full content of its all important PHUTO-NUTRIENTS (Cholesterol FREE)

THIS OIL IS USED AS A CULINARY, MEDICINAL, COSMETIC FAVORITE and is considered the BEST by the AFRICANS- and is used for special meals!!

 

**THE IMPORTANCE OF NATIVE VARITIES:

There are TWO types of PALM OIL in WEST AFRICA, they are:

DURA : A large nut, thick shell with a thin mesocarp-this is the main variety found in natural groves, for many decades-well before modern methods of PALM OIL were introduced to the Africans in the second quarter on the 20th Century

PISIFERA: A small fruit with NO shell and a thick mesocarp,(=Middle layer of fruit) containing much more oil & fat than either of its parents (Chemically Saturated Oil)

TENERA: Is created by crossing DURA & PISIFERA OILS and is considered a better variety for commercial / industrial purposes-because of high yields, it produces INFERIOR OIL for food consumption!

I>E>: African consumers found that the palm oil produced from TENARA is too fatty and does not give an acceptable taste as oil or a soup base.
